How do I get my free credit report?
There are three credit reporting bureaus in the United States, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Each of them will provide you with one copy of your credit report every 12 months.
There are two ways to submit your request, on the web, by telephone or by snail mail.
On the Web:
You can submit your request on the web at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ . The site is very easy to use and is very straightforward. The primary benefit of this is that you can actually see and print your credit report instantly online.
By telephone:
You may receive your credit report by calling 1-877-322-8228. Your report will be mailed to you in two to three weeks.
By snail mail:
You can find the online form here. Fill in the form and mail it to the address below.
